Dough Technologist / Senior Process& Dough Technology Strategist Service & Pre-Sales (m/f/d)
Your goal is to establish technology not merely as a support function, but as a sellable value proposition – in pre-sales, in project business, and as an independent, monetizable service offering.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Pre-Sales & Market Impact (approx. 35%)
- Acting as a technological sparring partner for Sales and international customers during quotation and project planning phases
- Evaluation of recipes, dough processing and production processes in the context of machine design and layout
- Active contribution to the technological market positioning, especially in the dough sheeting and process segment
- Building trust in expert-level technical dialogue with customers on an equal technological footing
Technological Services & Monetization (approx. 25%)
- Development of structured, fee-based technical services in the areas of:
- Dough and process analysis
- Recipe and raw material optimization
- Process stability and efficiency programs
- Training and education concepts
- Supporting Sales in marketing and selling technological services
- Execution of selected pilot projects as references for building the service portfolio
- Establishing technology as an independent revenue stream
Technological Excellence & System Competence (approx. 15%)
- Ensuring optimal alignment of recipe, process, automation and machinery
- Evaluation of new machine concepts from a dough and process technology perspective
- Development of technological standards, guidelines and best practices
- Support for technologically complex customer applications worldwide
- Contribution to stabilizing production processes by adapting recipes, dough handling and machine parameters
Knowledge Building & Professional Development of Staff (approx. 15%)
- Technical leadership and development of application engineers and technologists
- Establishment of systematic knowledge management (standards, training materials, guidelines)
- Conducting internal trainings, technology reviews and workshops
- Development of a sustainable culture of technological excellence within the company
Network & Thought Leadership (approx. 10%)
- Building an international network with raw material suppliers, additive suppliers and technology partners
- Representing the company as a technological thought leader at industry events
- Early identification of technological trends in baked goods and process automation
YOUR PROFILE
Professional Qualifications
- Degree in Food Technology, Baking Technology, Process Engineering or similar, or Master Baker/Pastry Chef with strong additional technological qualifications
- Several years of experience as a dough technologist, application engineer, process engineer or in a comparable role
- Very deep understanding of:
- Dough rheology, flour qualities and additives
- Industrial baking processes and continuous production lines
- Process stability, automation and machine parameterization
- Experience in pre-sales or in close technical collaboration with Sales teams

- Entrepreneurial mindset and strong understanding of economic relationships
- Enjoyment in translating technological expertise into tangible customer value and revenue
- Strong affinity for technology and mechanical engineering
- High consulting competence and persuasive skills
- Ability to communicate complex technological content clearly and with strong market impact
- Thought leader mindset: structured, forward-looking and shaping
- Very good command of German and English
- Willingness to travel internationally (30–40%)
